Opening a Calendar You can use calendars for different purposes by opening several of them. For instance, a group secretary can create a calendar of events that are of interest to an entire group. Group members could open the calendar in a separate view when scheduling events in their own calendars. Because the Open menu item can open a calendar in which you are not allowed to make entries, you can only "share" such calendars informally. To use a different or additional calendar, choose Open... from the File menu. You are asked for the name of the calendar you want to open and whether it should replace the current calendar or appear in a separate calendar window. The newly opened calendar presents a Month view that contains the current day. If you specify the name of a calendar file to which you do not have read access, the Open... operation fails and a message appears explaining the cause of the failure.
