About MAIL, INBOX, and WASTEBASKET When you start the Mail application for the first time, one drawer, named MAIL, is automatically created and opened. Under the MAIL drawer, INBOX and WASTEBASKET are listed. The INBOX folder contains messages that have been sent to you. WASTEBASKET contains messages that you have deleted. The INBOX is also open when you enter Mail, as indicated by the open folder icon in front of INBOX. If there are any messages in the INBOX, they are listed. Messages are chronologically arranged by date received. Messages are held in the INBOX until you move them to another folder. You can change this default setting to automatically refile new messages to the MAIL folder once you have read them by changing your Receive options in your Mail profile.
