Using Mail's Main Window The main window lists your Mail drawers, folders, and messages. Drawers, folders, and messages are identified by unique icons. For example, a message is identified by an icon that looks like an envelope. An icon also indicates whether the object is open or closed. Drawers and folders can be opened to reveal their contents and closed to conceal their contents. To open a drawer or folder, double click on the name of the drawer or folder. To close a drawer or folder, double click on the name of an open drawer or folder. Near the bottom of the main window is a row of push buttons. These buttons duplicate pull-down menu items for tasks you most commonly perform. Many of the push buttons are disabled (dimmed) when you first start Mail and remain disabled until you select a specific message.
