Saving a Draft of a Message Saving a message lets you begin writing a message now and continue working on it later. If you are creating a long mail message, it is advisable to save the message occasionally. To save a draft of a message: 1. Choose Save As... from the File menu. A dialog box is displayed, prompting you for the name of the draft message. 2. Enter a name of 39 characters or fewer. By default, the file type DRAFT is appended to the file name and the file is stored in your default directory. If you specify a different file type or directory, Mail will not list this file when you request a list of your draft files. 3. Click on the OK button to save the draft message. The message can be sent or canceled after it has been saved. Saved draft messages are OpenVMS files and cannot be deleted through Mail. You can delete draft messages by using the Session Manager's FileView application. Additional topics: * Using a Draft of a Message
