Opening an Existing File Choose either Open... or Open Selected from the File menu to open an existing file. If you choose Open..., a dialog box appears. Use the scroll bars to view a complete list of files. Move the pointer to the name of the file you want to open and click MB1 or type the name of the file in the text field. Click on the Open button. Alternatively, you can use the mouse to select a file name from anywhere on your screen. For example, you can list the files in a directory while working in a DECterm window and select one of those files. Then choose Open Selected from the File menu. Notepad will open the file that you selected.
