Selecting a Section to Read When you open a book, the Navigation window opens and displays the table of contents and index entries for that book. The table of contents may also contain entries for figures, tables, and examples. All entries in the Navigation window are hotspots (with the exception of some index entries). Double click on any entry to open that section. The listing that you see in the Navigation window does not always show a complete list of the entries. Some entries are preceded by arrows: A right arrow indicates that the entry contains suben- tries that do not appear on the screen. Double click on the arrow to view the subentries. A down arrow indicates that the subentries appear on the screen. Double click on the arrow to collapse the subentries. The following table shows the tasks you can perform in the Navigation window. To Do This See all the subentries Select the first entry titled Contents, then choose Fully Expand from the View menu. See the index Choose Index from the View menu. See the list of figures, tablChoose the appropriate item from or examples the View menu: Figures, Tables, or Examples. Search all entries for a Choose Search Entry Titles... from the matching word or phrase Search menu. Expand an entry Double click on the right arrow. Or, click on the right arrow, and then choose Expand or Fully Expand from the View menu. Close an expanded entry Double click on the down arrow. Or, click on the down arrow, and then choose Collapse from the View menu. Close all expanded entries Choose Collapse All from the View menu. Read a section (or table, Double click on the entry for the item figure, or example) you want to read. Or, click on the entry, and then choose Open Topic from the File Menu. Or, click on the entry, and then press MB3 and choose Open Topic from the pop-up menu. Read a section (or table, figClick on the entry, and then choose ure, or example) in a second Open Topic in New Window from the Topic window File Menu. Or, click on the entry, and then press MB3 and choose Open Topic in New Window from the pop-up menu. When you open a section, it appears in the Topic window . You can shrink the Navigation window to an icon by double clicking on the title bar.
