DMU.HLB  —  PURGE
  The PURGE command deletes all but the highest versions  of  specified
  dictionary  objects.  You specify the objects with a full or relative
  path name.  If you do not enter a path name with  PURGE,  DMU  purges
  the   objects   in   your   default  directory.   Because  dictionary
  directories cannot have multiple  versions,  PURGE  does  not  affect
  them.

  Command Syntax:

   PURGE [qualifiers] [path-name [,path-name]...]
