DMU.HLB  —  PURGE  parameter
  path-name

Specifies the objects you want to purge or the directory or
subdictionary that contains the objects you want to purge. You can
use the wildcards *, %, and > in the path name specification. If you
are using a terminal of the VT200 family, you can use 8-bit
characters in path names. If you specify an object, the path name
cannot contain a version number or a semicolon. If you do not
specify a path name, PURGE operates the objects in your default
  directory.
