Cut/substitute Erases the search string, replaces it with the contents of the buffer, and finds the next occurrence of the string. The default buffer is $PASTE or clipboard in DECwindows. You can specify any other buffer with the /BUFFER qualifier. Steps: 1. Press the Select key at the command prompt. 2. Type the new text in the buffer. 3. Press the Cut or Remove key. This places the text in the indicated buffer. 4. Press the Find key, and at the prompt type the text you want to search for and replace. 5. Press the Enter key. 6. Press the Substitute key. Subsequently, each time you press the Substitute key, LSE makes one substitution and finds the next occurrence of the search string.
