FORMATTED = fmd

  fmd  Is a character character scalar memory reference that is
       assigned one of the following values:

  'YES'       If formatted I/O is allowed
  'NO'        If formatted I/O is not allowed
  'UNKNOWN'   If the processor cannot determine whether formatted
              I/O is allowed
